Gelatin/collagen is constituting 50% of the protein of an animal or human body.

Gelatin/collagen is anti-inflammatory

Gelatin/collagen is a healing agent for the gut

Gelatin/collagen support our hormonal system

Gelatin/collagen strengthen and heal our skeletal system

Gelatin/collagen is what mostly is thrown away in the meat/fish industry..and what we sorely need in our diet

Gelatin derived protein-powder, collagen, has become one of the most popular protein-powders among health conscious people. It is also one of the most expensive when you buy it in the health-food stores.

One of the main reasons why collagen-powder has become so popular, is that it has several qualities that none of the others protein-powders have; it is anti-inflammatory, it is hormone-supportive and it is healing for the gut and skeletal system, which are all very useful qualities if you are working out and exercising.

Collagen is a very important building material in the body and being one of the main constituents in bones, muscles, tendens and supportive tissue. So for bone- health, joints and the muscular systems, and for the skin, eating gelatin can be of great support, and I know several people, myself included, that have healed up worn out and painful hips/joints, just by adding collagen/gelatin rich food in their diets..Some even say it will remove wrinkles...

Also for the digestive system ; stomach and the intestines, gelatin has a great healing effect, supporting the digestive juices, and in healing the lining of the gut and intestines.

By its inflammatory actions ,it is also of great importance for our hormonal system. When we are under stress, our body produces stress hormones , and collagen will by its high contents of anti-inflammatory hormons, act as a balancing agent.

Because of the gelatins digestive support it can be a good idea to have gelatin in some form with your meals. In earlier times, that was mostly the case, because of all the bone-broth based food they ate. Bone-broth contains gelatin.  And in Asia they still eat bone-broth based food, through-out the day. There is always a soup, already for breakfast, and the soups are made from broth cooked on the bones of fish and seafood, or chicken, beef or pork. Even their rice, they boil in broth. This is why the asians can stay healthy, also without eating much dairy products. Bone-broth has an added quality to it, which makes it even more valuable to consume than just gelatin/collagen rich products, and that is all the minerals and trace-minerals that is dissolved into the broth, from the bones during the many hours of cooking.
